D.A.V. College, Abohar Congratulates all The 40 students who got selected in Wipro Placement Drive Conducted on 15th-16th October,2018.

With the objective to teach and train students in the complete spectrum of experimental and theoretical physics at highest level, the department of Physics was established in the year 1960 with the initiation of under graduate course. Post Graduate course in Physics was introduced in 2004 with the view to enhance the contribution towards higher education and research.

Since the incetion of the college in 1960, various worthy members in the departmental faculty, Both in teaching and non-teaching, have served to carve a niche in the sphere of education and to enlighten about day to day development in science and technology. The department was first joined by Sh. P.L. Trakru and later in served by Sh. K.K. Kalra(1964), Sh. R.L. Sachdeva, Late.Sh. S.K. Dhawan and Sh. Arvind Nagpal. The Life and Blood if the department were Late Sh. Shiv Dayal Late Sh. Madan Lal, Late Sh. Jeet Ram, Sh. Birja Ram and Late Sh. Prahlad, Who tried to make the environment in the labs research friendly.

Presently the department under the headship of Sh. Rajesh Kahtri, (M.Sc, M.Phil) is comprised of five permanent teachers viz. Mr. Saurabh Narang 2002, M.Sc (NET), Dr. Manoj Kumar, M.Sc. 2006(NET) PH.D, Mrs. Ritu Pasrija, 2007 ( M.Sc. NET & B.ED.), and  Ms. Shefali Gupta, M.Sc.(NET). The qualified staff continuously tries to bring something new in the field of present research by Publishing and presenting research paper in national conferences.
