Procedure for Admission

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Form must be submitted in the office as per schedule and acknowledgement of the same must be received from the office. No form will be accepted after the date specified. Students are required to note the following points while filling up the admission forms:

  1. The form must be filled up in the student’s own handwriting.
  2. The spellings of the name of student, father and mother must be the same as recorded in the  certificate / DMC of the Matriculation examination passed.
  1. Every candidate must write the name of his / her mother along with the name of the father in the stipulated column.
  2. Date of birth must be recorded properly with due proof.
  3. As and when the Registration Number (PUPIN) is issued by P. U. Chandigarh, it must be filled in the stipulated column.
  4. Affix one photograph of the passport size at the specified place and enclose one with the form.
  5. Every candidate must give a certificate that he / she has never been disqualified by any Board / Body / Council / University in any examination.
  6. The student must specify the category for reservation in application. Benefit of reservation shall not be granted if it is not claimed in the admission form.

CHECKLIST

  1. Attested copies of the original certificate of the lower qualifying examination. The student should produce a proper certificate issued by the competent authority in support of his / her claim.
  2. Original migration certificate is required to be submitted by the candidates who have passed their lower qualifying examination from any board / university other than P. S. E. B. / Panjab University.
  3. Character Certificate from the last institute attended must be attached in original.
  4. An attested copy of the DMC of last examination passed.
  5. Date of Birth certificate or Matriculation Certificate
  6. Two recent coloured passport size photographs.
  7. Migration Certificate where applicable
  8. Reserved Category Certificate where applicable that of category (S. C. / B. C.) should be enclosed with the admission form. In the absence of such a certificate, no benefit of any reservation shall be given.

CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION

  1. Seats are limited. Admission will be strictly on merit basis.
  2. Every admission from B. A., B. Sc., B. Com. - I, to M. A. classes shall be provisional subject to the approval / confirmation of admission by P.U. Chandigarh. The college shall not be responsible if P. U. does not approve / confirm the admission of any student due to wrong or incomplete particulars submitted by him / her or for want of any requisite document. Therefore before filling in the form, the candidate must ensure that he / she is eligible for admission to the particular class. If any ineligibility is detected at any stage, the admission shall be cancelled and the college shall not be responsible in any case.
  3. Admission of students placed in compartment in one subject will be done as per the latest rules / instructions from P. U. Chandigarh.
  4. The Principal may refuse admission to any applicant without assigning any reason.
  5. If a student is found ineligible at any stage, his/her admission shall be cancelled and he /she will have no claim whatever to:

(i) Refund of dues paid.

(ii) Stay in the hostel.

(iii) Appearing in the examination.

(iv) Any other privilege available to the bonafide students.

  1. Admission will be refused to those candidates.

(i) Whose conduct and attendance record has not been upto mark in the lower classes.

(ii) Who have failed in the previous examination.

Gap Year

An affidavitt in duplicate from each candidate having gap year seeking admission to the College to the effect that he / she was not disqualified by any Board/ Body/ Council/ University and he / she was not already registered with the Panjab University (wherever applicable), must be submitted. In case the candidate was disqualified, the period of disqualification and the activities in which the candidate was involved during the period of disqualification, should be indicated by the candidate in the said affidavit. In case of re-admission after a long spell, the candidate must quote his/her old Registration number of Panjab University.
